QUALITY PROGRAM OPERATIONS

Introduction

All accredited technology centers are approved based on training programs that provide skills
and knowledge that support the students in their quest for employment or their intent to continue their education. Programs are expected to provide a variety of learning methods to meet the learning styles of the differing students. Programs are also expected to align with the business community in meeting their employment needs.

Commendations or Strengths

It is certainly commendable that the technology center pays for student organization fees for all students. This proactive policy allows all students to participate in those activities regardless of family income status.

The promotional materials are very good. The cards provide good "teaser" information to entice potential students to seek more information if interested but it does not overwhelm them. The tri-folds provide clear and concise information. Statistics such as placement and percentage of students who went to college as well as wage, job opportunities, etc., are included in the content.

Program information in the promotional materials is being organized into clusters. Instructor support for technical aids and clerical aids is applauded.

Specific Recommendations for Improvement

This administrative review standard was met.

General Suggestions for Improvement

Consideration might be given to putting the number of college credit hours for each program in the tri-fold brochures. The brochures include a flag symbol that indicates college credit is available, but the viewer is instructed to check with a counselor for more information. Another consideration might be to begin organizing the short-term offerings into c1usters.

The administration has shown much support for the programs in helping them grow and improve. This administrative support, without doubt, will be continued.
